Join the Riverton Ezicalve Herefords Team

At Riverton Ezicalve Herefords, we’re just as passionate about developing people as we are about breeding exceptional cattle. Seeing young staff grow in experience, confidence, and responsibility is one of the most rewarding parts of our work — right up there with developing new land and expanding our farming business.
Our Farming Business
We’re a diverse operation with a focus on top stock performance, a willingness to try new ideas, and a commitment to excellence across all areas of farming. From our renowned Ezicalve Hereford stud to lamb finishing, cropping, and hill country breeding, there’s always something to learn and new challenges to tackle.
Our permanent team includes four skilled staff members working alongside owners Mike and Cath Cranstone:
-
Mike – Oversees the entire farming business, manages the Hereford stud, lamb finishing, and cropping.
-
Junior Shepherd – Works closely with Mike, assisting with hill country stock work.
-
Experienced Shepherd – Responsible for daily stock management on Okirae.
-
Hill Country Manager – Oversees our recently purchased Riverly breeding property and supports wider operations.
Career Progression
We’re proud to offer opportunities for motivated people to progress from junior shepherd through to hill country manager, taking on greater responsibility and developing leadership skills along the way. Many of our team members go on to management roles within the industry or manage their own farms.
